Citing an increase in air traffic to the region, the Airport International Group in Jordan launched a USD750 million project to expand the Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) with the construction of a new 86,000 square meter, state-of-the-art passenger terminal. The new terminal is being constructed adjacent to the existing terminal, which remained in operation until construction was complete eliminating any interruption in service at the airport. Energy International supplied a number of products to the construction of the new terminal including precision air-conditioning units and a number of industrial exhaust fans for the structures massive HVAC system. EIC worked with the BLE Group to install a system of smoke curtains for safety. Energy International’s Building Management team installed the new terminal’s BMS system and installed a custom-designed audio system that compensates for the organic domed-shaped roof of the new terminal. EIC also supplied a team of technicians to monitor the BMS system.
